The Canyons is a residential community from Melcor Developments in south west Lethbridge. It is located at the south end of University Drive, just south of the community of RiverStone and east of Paradise Canyon. It can be accessed via University Dr.

At build out, The Canyons will be 346 acres development with 34 acres of park space and 1700 single family homes and 400 multi-family units. At its entrance, residents will be welcomed by a 16 acre mixed use site.

The Canyons will feature diverse housing option for buyers including condos, townhomes, single family move up and Estate homes. Lot sizes in The Canyons range from 36’ for starter and move up homes, to 60’ for Estate homes.

The Canyons Centrepiece

A central amenity of the community is The Canyons Park and pond. It is one of Lethbridge’s larger community parks. It features a large manicured pond with fountain and connects to a smaller pond by a cascading stream and waterfall. There are extensive pathway systems throughout the community with gathering and resting nodes including a gazebo and park benches, a children’s playground and amphitheatre.

Planning For The Future

Homes In The Canyon

While Melcor has planned The Canyons community for predominantly single-family homes, it will also feature a variety of multi-family and single-family housing products as they move closer to the entrance of this master planned neighborhood.

These future development plans also include a 16-acre commercial mixed-use site that will combine retail and residential, which could see development of small grocery stores, restaurants, boutique shops and services.

Eventually the neighborhood of The Canyons, including Canyon Crest, is estimated to be home to 1,700 single-family homes and 400 multi-family units.
