Started by the Melton family in Edmonton in 1923, the company was operated as a family real estate brokerage firm until 1976 when it shifted its focus to land development and to owning and managing investment properties under the banner of Melcor Developments Ltd.

With regional offices in Alberta, British Columbia and Arizona, Melcor now has four integrated operating divisions – community development, property development, investment property and recreational property.

Through these divisions, Melcor manages the full life cycle of real estate development from acquiring raw land, to community planning, to construction and development of builder ready residential lots and commercial sites, to constructing and managing leasable office and retail prospects.

As a family-based company, being involved in the community is a top priority. Melcor is a huge supporter of the Lethbridge Symphony, Lethbridge College and the University of Lethbridge, as well as numerous local and provincial charities.
